I Fired the Tooth Fairy
Early in 2023, Robin had some loose teeth. Well, one for sure. It fell out after the normal wiggling period and the Tooth Fairy was notified. However, our Tooth Fairy Company was not very prompt. It took about 4 days for the Fairy to exchange the tooth for some cash. And since it was so late, left more $$ than normal.
Cha-ching. Robin found a new hustle.
And less than a week later, pulled out an unripe tooth. We (and the Tooth Fairy) were not pleased. He got way less money for the unripe tooth. And we started looking for a new Tooth Fairy Company.
Off to Pinterest. Sure, there were ideas of alternatives to cash, but most of them took a little bit more time than this old, pregnant mom wanted to deal with at the time.
I found Hold The Magic - I'm not sure where I stumbled across their ad. But, they had enough good reviews and I was tired of the old Company, so I ordered the Healthy Smiles set and fired the old Company.
I feel like I should pause here and say, yes, I realize that I was the old Company and I fired myself. But for crying out loud... being the Tooth Fairy is surprisingly and ridiculously hard for us.
Anyway, the set arrived. I couldn't for the next loose tooth!
And Batman got the honor of being the first customer of the new Tooth Fairy Company. I gave him a heads up that we switched companies so he knew it was going to be different than just getting cash.
We put his tooth in a baggie and stuck it to the fridge. We've never done the traditional tooth-under-the-pillow thing.
And, the next morning, he ran into our room, so excited to show us his prize. The first prize of the Healthy Smiles set is a rather nice 2-minute timer. (And he still uses it.)
After the success of the oldest child (10 years old) enjoying the prize, I ordered two more sets for the younger kids. Amazingly enough, Batman is the only one to have lost any teeth since then, but Batgirl has a shark tooth that will be out soon.
The second prize was a cute little bear and some miniature tooth brushing items - a mug, toothpaste and toothbrush. Super cute.
And the third prize was a really nice key chain with charms - a tooth, toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. As he doesn't have any keys yet and wasn't ready to put it on his book bag or something, he spent the day playing a game where each charm gave him some sort of superpower.
And the coolest thing? Each night that we put a tooth on the fridge, Batman says, "I wonder what the Tooth Fairy will bring this time." in this curious voice. And each morning, he's excited to open up the little gift bag to see what treasure the Tooth Fairy left him. I love it!
P.S. No, I'm not affiliated with Hold The Magic. I'm just a satisfied customer who wants to show some love.
